Obama-Biden for US & Global Change
America needs change and needs it desperately. November 4, 2008 is a pivotal time for the United States and a Democratic Administration in the White House is what is needed. Senator Obama is the change that America needs.
For the past eight years, President George Bush and the neoconservatives have presided over an administration that has never recovered since the attacks on the United States during September 11, 2001. George Bush was the Commander in Chief during the terrorist attacks. He had been Commander for 18 months and similar to the attacks on Pearl Harbor in 1941, there was intelligence and information presented to the high command that was not acted upon.
As Commander, George Bush committed and attacked Iraq based on flawed intelligence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. When the US discovered that none existed, the Bush Administration realigned the US invasion to be one that “provides democracy to Iraq”. Today, over 5,000 US service men and women are dead. Tens of thousands are disabled and hundreds of millions of US taxpayers dollars expended on a war Bush sought approval from Congress for with false information.
The United States had the choice to rid them of Bush during the election of November 2004. Americans voted to keep Bush in power. Your correspondent was in Washington the night of the November 4, 2004 election and recalls reading of an average mid-western American, married with four small children. Interviewed by the Washington Post, he said “He was proud to vote for Bush because it is moral victory and a great moral vote”. Today, where is this man? He admitted then that his income had fallen under Bush 2000-2004 and had this man had a home, it would most likely have been foreclosed because of the property implosion.
The US economy and stock markets have also had enough. Unlike other nations who could quickly announce fast and responsible financial packages, the markets demonstrated a complete disregard for Bush and Congress who took two weeks to announce the US$750b rescue package.
On November 4, 2008 America votes. The incumbent will inherit an economy that is in “Chapter 11”, an expensive and endless war in Iraq and Afghanistan and a homeland economy in recession.
Senator Obama appears to be the calm, cautious and educated man who would seek his advisors opinions. 2009 will be a year of extreme financial pain for the United States and other global economies and Obama is the best man for change; change that America desperately needs.
