Matthew Holden PhD Topic

I am completing my PhD at Macquarie Graduate School of Management. At MGSM, there are approximately 2,700 students and they have campuses in North Ryde, Singapore and Hong Kong. The School says it is ranked 1st in Asia and Australia and 40th in the world for its full-time MBA program.

My research topic is:

“Intangible Assets. Measurement and valuation of an organisation’s customer list or marketing database.”

My interest in this topic stems from looking at a photo of Ray Williams who, under his management, allowed an Australian company known as HIH Insurance Limited to become insolvent and eventually liquidated.

Naturally I am using the areas of my core competence: marketing and information technology as the areas in which to test my developed theories.
